“First Croatia, next stop the world!” could be the headline for Alen Brentini’s career.

Born in 1977 in the Croatian port of Rijeka, he first picked up the guitar at the age of 9.

He joined his first band at 15, moved into the pro camp from age 19, and has been the main string man for folk rock ‘n‘ roller Andreas Gabalier since 2012, at home in major arenas and stadiums.

Of course, his career path has been built on plenty of staying power and hard work. From acoustic fingerstyle festivals in his home country and a guest spot with Croatian star Aki Rahimovski to countless solo and studio projects, Alen worked his way up the musical ladder.

The names of his collaborators became increasingly prestigious, spanning Kee Marcello (Europe), Richie Kotzen (Mr. Big, Poison), Marco Mendoza (Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy), Mike Terrana (Yngwie J. Malmsteen, Tarja Turunen, Masterplan, Rage), Nicole McCloud (Michael Jackson, Sting, Bruce Springsteen) and Michael T. Ross (Hardline, Lita Ford, Lizzy Borden, Accomplice, Angel).

But aside from all the sold-out halls and packed tour diary, his secret love is still the acoustic guitar – as his project with Croatian singer Ayra shows.
